Costa Concordia

The Costa Concordia cruiseship lies on January 16, 2012 outdoor of the harbor of the Tuscan island of Giglio after it ran aground and keeled over off the Isola del Giglio after hitting underwater rocks on January 13. The owner of the luxury liner that ran aground off the coast of Italy, killing at least six people, said its captain had made “errors of judgment” as the search continued for the missing. “It seems that the commander made errors of judgement that had serious consequences,” said a statement from the liner’s owner Costa Crociere, referring to Captain Francesco Schettino. “The route followed by the ship was not the right one,” Verusio said, accusing Schettino of having “approached Giglio island in a very clumsy manner.” AFP PHOTO / FILIPPO MONTEFORTE (Photo credit should read FILIPPO MONTEFORTE/AFP/Getty Images)
