Protesta per l’isola Huangyan

Philippine activists hold a protest in front of the Chinese Consular Office in Makati, the financial district of Manila on April 20, 2012, condemning what they say is China’s intrusions into the Scarborough Shoal, known to the Chinese as Huangyan. China says that it has sovereign rights to all of the South China Sea, even waters close to the coast of other countries and hundreds of kilometres from its own landmass. Philippines says it has sovereign rights over areas of the sea within its 200-nautical-mile exclusive economic zone, and that its position is supported by international law.
